Born in Parma on 28 April 1950 Graduated in Medicine and Surgery on 31 October 1975.

Education and Training

-Scientific maturity at the Institute Filippin of Paderno del Grappa in the summer session of the year 1969. 
-University Course at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of Parma from 1969 to 1972 and then at the University of Sassari where he graduated on 30 October 1975. 
-On 25 July 1978 he obtained the Diploma of Specialist in Angiology and Vascular Surgery at the post graduate school of the University of Milan, directed by Prof. Edmondo Malan. 
- On 23 May 1984 the diploma of Specialist in General Surgery at the University of Parma - in December 1986 the suitability for being Chief in General Surgery.



Work experience

From the graduation to 31 December 1976 Internal Doctor at the Institute of Pathology Special Surgical University of Sassari directed by Professor Giorgio Tiberio and from 1 January 1977 at the Division of General Surgery of the Hospital of Parma. 
From 18/7/1978 assumed as tenured full time Hospital Assistant at the Division of General Surgery of Parma. 
From 23 March 1988 Aid Co-responsible for the Division of General Surgery of the Ospedali Riuniti di Parma and then from 1990 Medical Director of 2 0 level until 31 October 1999 of the USL 4 of Parma. 
In the years 1978-79-80-81-82 he taught a class of Surgical Pathology at the school of professional nurses. 
From 1 November 1999 Freelancer at unit of General Surgery of the Casa di Cura Città di Parma, Casa di Cura Privata Piacenza and ValParma Hospital in Langhirano (PR).

-Dublin at the Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital directed by Professor George Fegan in March 1981.

He has personally carried out more than 3000 operations of general surgery and 7000 interventions of Phlebological Surgery to which he is particularly dedicated himself first with the traditional surgery with crossectomy and stripping ambulatory under local and loco-regional anesthesia of which he has been the promoter since 1982, then with interventions on twins veins and finally with the surgery of relapses according A.K.Li  with 350 treated cases treated that represent the personal casuistry more numerous in the national field. Since 2004 he also has been using the Endovascular Laser for the therapy of saphenous reflux with about 3500 treated cases.

He has participated in more than 200 courses and congresses worldwide as rapporteur and moderator and was the author of numerous scientific works published in didactic texts and in the best magazines of surgery. He has been the promoter and organizer of 1°, 2° and 3° Symposium of Parma Phlebology (1989, 1991, 1995) of the National Congress of the Italian Society of Phlebolymphology in 1998 in Parma and of the Laboratory of Diagnostics and Laser Therapy in Phlebology and Aesthetic Medicine (with hands-on sessions) in Parma 2014. Since three years he has been taking part to the humanitarian mission of the Amigos de Salud in Matagalpa in Nicaragua with ten days of surgery at the Fara Foundation and for this well-known member of the Institute of the “Scudi di San Martino”.
