Sclerosing therapies of varices 

The sclerotherapy consists in injecting inside a vessel (almost always venous) a drug (there are some in trade with various properties) that causes a structural modification of the inner lining of the vessel causing the progressive closure. It can be used for the veins of various sizes for both coarse varicose veins that for purposes telangiectasias naturally by varying both the percentage concentration of drug that the quantity or its physical form. In fact, it is possible to inject the sclerosing agent in liquid form to obtain with the dilution thereof in the blood a moderate and sweet effect or by mixing the drug with air or gas in the form of foam causing an effect more determined and effective. The vein so treated closes and hardens and is then remodeled in variable time (up to two months) from individual organic defenses transforming itself into a fibrous scar not more evident.

Often it is possible to observe varicose veins in the absence of backflows in the saphenous veins (then said extra-saphenous) or after an intervention of stripping of the saphenous vein itself, where it is necessary surgical removal as an alternative to sclerotherapy. Through small skin incisions (1-2 mm) the below veins hook each others and with delicate movements of circular traction the varicose is externalized and removed. It is indicated in the treatments with the purpose both functional and aesthetic.
